Summary

This study is a development of adsorption heat pump (AHP) using a natural meso-porous material of Wakkanai siliceous shale (WSS) impregnated with chloride component. We used the powder of WSS impregnated with lithium chloride as the adsorbent for AHP prototype. We prepared the prototype of AHP with 1kW cooling capacity. To evaluate the prototype, experiments were performed with the cooling water of 30°C, the hot water of 80°C, and the chilling water of 20°C. In the experiment for 1kW-prototype, cooling capacity and COP was more than 1kW and above 0.35. In Addition, for increasing up to 10kW cooling capacity and high COP, 10kW-prototype was prepared. In this paper, we evaluate prototypes of AHP and discuss the improvement of design with 10kW-prototype.
