DESCRIBES THE FINDINGS OF A FEASIBILITY STUDY TO IDENTIFY A PROGRAMME OF WORK TO DEVELOP HEAT PUMPS WITH A SEASONAL COP OF AROUND 4 WHEN WORKING FROM A HEAT STORAGE SOURCE AT BETWEEN 283 AND 293 K (10 AND 20 DEG C). THE OUTPUT TEMPERATURE FROM THE HEAT PUMP SHOULD BE AT LEAST 323 K (50 DEG C).
