THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE AUTHORS' EFFORTS TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES IN DESIGNING AN AIR-COOLED DOUBLE-EFFECT ABSORPTION CHILLER WITH A WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE PAIR WORKING MEDIUM. THE KEY FACTOR WAS AN AIR-COOLED ABSORBER THAT CONSISTS OF VERTICALABSORBING TUBES AND AIR-COOLED FINS INSTALLED OUTSIDE THE TUBES.
