THE AUTHORS INTRODUCE AN INDUSTRIAL FREEZE-DRYING PLANT. THE MAJOR SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PLANT ARE: TOTAL SHELF AREA OF 8 M2, SHELF TEMPERATURE OF 233 TO ABOUT 343 K (-40 TO ABOUT 70 DEG C), SHELF TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE OF ABOUT 1.5 K AND COLD TRAP CAPACITY OF 80 KG. ITS MAIN FEATURES ARE AS FOLLOWS: INTERNAL SHELVES ARE ADJUSTABLE, THE PRESSURE IN THE DRYING CHAMBER CANBE REGULATED, THE DISCHARGE HEAT OF THE REFRIGERATING COMPRESSOR IS USED AS THE HEAT SOURCE OF THE SUBLIMATION, AND THE PLANT HAS 2 KINDS OF CONTROL PATTERNS WHICH ARE INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER. A FIRST IN CHINA IS THE MICROCOMPUTER, WHICH CAN REGULATE THE PLANT ACCORDING TO ANY GIVEN FREEZE-DRYING CURVES, WHICH THE PROGRAM CAN TRACE FOR CALCULATING HEATING CAPACITY IN ADVANCE.
