Summary
THE PHASING-OUT OF R12 DUE TO INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS HAS MADE IT NECESSARY TO DEVELOP HERMETIC COMPRESSORS WHICH CAN FUNCTION WITH THE PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE R134A FOR DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION. THE PAPER HIGHLIGHTS THE MOST IMPORTANT CHANGES THAT HAVE TO BE MADE IN ORDER TO REDESIGN A R12 HERMETIC COMPRESSOR TO OPERATE WITH R134A.
