Losses because of leaks in compressors operating with environmentally friendly refrigerants.
Author(s) : DAGILIS V., VAITKUS L.
Summary
The paper presents an overview of theoretical and experimental research on volumetric losses because of leaks between the piston and the cylinder in the compressor. Further, it presents theoretical and experimental research on the gas flow through irregular clearance between cylinder-shaped bodies. Volumetric losses of hermetic compressors operating with environmentally friendly refrigerants R134a and R600a are determined and compared with the losses for R12.
