Summary

This book is the Slovenian translation of a book already abstracted in the IIR Bulletin (see abstract 2004-0441). In the late 1980s, displacement ventilation became a widely used principle for commercial premises. In many cases it has proved to yield better air quality than mixing ventilation, while in other cases, problems have been reported. The guidebook aims to provide European engineers with a comprehensive, up-to-date and easy-to-understand design manual that gives an account of the experience gained in practical applications and in research. It also deals with the latest developments in displacement techniques, other than floor-mounted supply units. Design examples are given for the most common types of applications. Extract from the table of contents: basic knowledge about displacement ventilation; air diffusers; design procedures; energy aspects; automation and control; case studies (restaurant, cell office, auditorium, meeting room, classroom).
