Summary

CCB IS A SYSTEM TO DISRUPT CELLS BY PROJECTING SMALL PARTICLES OF FROZEN CELLS SUSPENSION ONTO A HARD SHEET METAL IN A NITROGEN GAS FLOW OF SONIC SPEED. THIS METHOD HAD TO BE MODIFIED FOR USE WITH FUNGI AND ACTINOMYCETES, BECAUSE OF FILAMENTOUS CELLS (ORIFICE OF SPRAY NOZZLE WAS PLUGGED UP). A HIGHER PRESSURE (6 MEGAPASCALS) WAS USED. RESULTS ARE GIVEN IN THE FIELD OF DNA RECOVERY.
