Summary

THE CONTENTS OF DNA AND RNA IN NORMAL HUMAN SPERM BEFORE AND AFTER CRYOPRESERVATION AS WELL AS IN PATHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS, THAT IS OLIGO-, ASTENO-AND TERATOSPERMY ARE DETERMINED. CRYOPRESERVATION HAS BEEN SHOWN TO AFFECT THE CONTENT OF NUCLEIC ACIDS BUT INSIGNIFICANTLY. A DECREASE IN THE DNA CONTENT AND AN INCREASE IN THE RNA/DNA RATIO WERE OBSERVED IN PATHOLOGIC SPERM. THE DETERMINATION OF DNA CONTENT AND THE RATIO OF NUCLEIC ACIDS CAN BE USED AS A TEST FOR FERTILIZATION CAPACITY.
