Summary

In the study of dynamic analyses of the rotor-journal bearing system in a twin-screw refrigeration compressor, axis orbit is a comprehensive behavior of journal bearing working condition. In this paper, the gas radial dynamic load acting on the female rotor of a twin-screw compressor is calculated through ANSYS and an experimental research of axis orbit under different working conditions and different built-in volume ratio is presented. Moreover, the axis orbit of +40/5°C with 2.6 built-in volume ratio is calculated to be compared with experimental results. Finally, a theoretical study on the axis orbit for various radial clearance, aspect ratio and unbalanced mass eccentricity is carried out by solving nonlinear locus calculation model.
