Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL EMPLOYED TO SIMULATE THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF A DOMESTIC REFRIGERATOR. ALL THE COMPONENTS WERE MODELLED, AND BASIC EQUATIONS FOR THEM WERE DERIVED FROM THE PHYSICAL LAWS OF MASS AND ENERGY CONSERVATIO THE SIMULTANEOUS SOLUTION OF ALL THE DIFFERENTIAL AND ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS ALLOWS THE TRANSIENT ANALYSIS OF THE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM. THE EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP EMPLOYED TO VALIDATE THE COMPUTER PREDICTIONS IS ALSO PRESENTED. RESULTS OF THE SIMULATION WERE COMPARED WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS AND THE VALIDITY OF THE MODEL WAS CONFIRMED.
