Dynamic magnetocaloric and magnetic properties of La(Fe(1-x)Si(x))(13) alloy and its hybride.

Summary
Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of La(1.091)Fe(11.31)Si(1.56)Al(0.039) and hydrogenated alloy with the same composition have been investigated in the temperature interval from 190 to 350 K and in magnetic fields up to 2 T. Temperature and magnetic field dependences of the isothermal magnetic entropy change (delta-S(M)) were calculated on the basis of Maxwell's relation from magnetization versus magnetic field isotherms (M(H)). Metamagnetic transitions induced by magnetic field were observed on M(H) curves in the vicinity of Curie temperatures. The temperature and magnetic field dependences of the adiabatic temperature change (delta-T) were measured by a direct method with two magnetic field change rates: 0.5 and 0.05 T/s. Essential magnetic field hysteresis of delta-T was revealed at the magnetic change field rate of 0.5 T/s.
