Research on the magnetocaloric effect of LaFe(11.17-x)Co(0.78)Si(1.05)B(x) alloys.

Summary

The authors have studied the magnetocaloric effect near room temperature of these alloys using commercial pure material. The element B is interstitial atom. The phase transition temperature increased from 277 K when x= 0 to 289 K when x= 0.3 with the increasing content of element B. Moreover, the magnetic entropy change and the adiabatic temperature change which was directly measured also increased with the increasing content of B. And the alloy showed the large magnetocaloric effect at lower magnetic field. The measurements indicated that both thermal hysteresis and hysteresis are rather small.
