Type of article: Article

Summary

Ammonia-water absorption refrigeration plants are attractive from the standpoint of electric power savings and the use of non-fluorocarbons. The plant can be an alternative to the power compression refrigeration for evaporation temperatures from 0 to -60 deg C, using suitable waste heat, oil and natural gas. The paper shows the necessary heating temperature, equipment costs for temperature and COP, equipment cost analysis for COP, number of trays in the rectifying column, and COP in two-stage absorption.
