EFFECT OF CROSSFLOW ON BOILING HEAT TRANSFER OF R12.

Type of article: Article

Summary

VERY LITTLE WORK EXISTS ON THIS SUBJECT, PARTICULARLY AS WOULD APPLY TO FLOODED EVAPORATORS. THE AUTHORS HAVE SUGGESTED A SEMI-EMPIRICAL MODEL BASED ON THE SUPERIMPOSITION OF CROSS-FLOW EFFECTS OVER POOL BOILING. THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN CHECKED AGAINST THOSE FROM AN EXPERIMENTAL TEST RIG IN WHICH R12 IS BOILING ROUND AN ELECTRICALLY HEATED, STAINLESS-STEEL TUBE. THE CORRELATION IS CLOSE. D.W.H.
