Summary

BIOLOGICAL BACTERIAL RESEARCH FORMERLY CONDUCTED ON SPOROTHRIX SCHENCKII WERE ALL AT NORMAL OR HIGH TEMPERATURES. THE AUTHORS CONDUCTED EXPERIMENTS AT CRYOTEMPERATURES ON THE BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF SPOROTHRIX SCHENCKII AND DISCOVERED THAT CRYOGENIC TREATMENT HAD A POSITIVE KILLING EFFECT ON THIS GERM. 20 PATIENTS INFECTED BY THIS GERM WERE CURED BY CRYOTHERAPY IN 47.9 DAYS AVERAGE. NO RELAPSE OCCURRED AFTER FOLLOW UP OVER TWO YEARS.
