TESTS HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT ON THE STORAGE OF ACTINIDIA CHINENSIS AT 273 K (0 DEG C) WITH PROCESSES PROVIDING ETHYLENE ABSORPTION. THE ABSORBENTS USED ARE A 3% POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE AQUEOUS SOLUTION AND SMALL SPHERES OF ALUMINIUM SESQUIOXIDE IMPREGNATED WITH POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE. THESE PROCESSES PROVIDED EXCELLENT STORAGE LIFE UP TO 6 MONTHS AFTER PICKING.
