Effect of polyolester oil on the pool nucleate boiling heat transfer coefficient of carbon dioxide.

Author(s) : TAKAISHI Y., SATO T., OGUCHI K.

Summary

This paper reports measurement for the effect of a small amount of polyolester oil on the heat transfer coefficients of carbon dioxide under the conditions of pool nucleate boiling. The measurements were conducted by means of a horizontal platinum wire at a saturation temperature of 278 K and at relatively low oil concentrations from 0 to 2 mass%. The present results show that the pool nucleate boiling heat transfer coefficient for the mixtures of carbon dioxide and polyolester oil decreases significantly with increasing oil-concentration up to 2 mass%.
