Summary
Fruits of pear cv. Patharnakh were harvested on July 11, 21 or 31 and were dipped for one minute in calcium chloride before transporting it. Postharvest treatments with calcium chloride resulted in better fruit quality, with the lowest physiological weight and spoilage loss, and highest fruit firmness. Fruits harvested during July 11 recorded the lowest physiological weight and spoilage loss, and higher fruit firmness, whereas fruits harvested on July 21 recorded the highest palatability.
