Type of article: Article
Summary
The percentage germination of maize irradiated with 0, 0.5, 1, 2 or 4 kGy and stored at 5-30 deg C is reported. Germination after 3 months was generally decreased by all irradiation levels other than 0.5 kGy. After 12 months, percentage germination was highest after 0.5 kGy treatment, and was decreased by 2 or 4 kGy irradiation. Germination after 12 months was lower when stored at 20 or 30 °C than at lower temperatures.
