EFFECT OF REFRIGERATION ON THE SUCCESS OF ANDROGENESIS.

ACTION DU FROID SUR LA REUSSITE DE L'ANDROGENESE.

Author(s) : HENRY Y.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE TREATMENT OF BUDS AND INFLORESCENCES AT AVERAGE TEMPERATURES OF 276 K (3 DEG C) OVER SEVERAL DAYS ACTS AT SEVERAL LEVELS ON ANDROGENESIS, INCREASING THE YIELD OF EMBRYOS. IN ADDITION, THE PLOIDIA LEVEL OF THE PLANTS OBTAINED BY ANDROGENESIS (WHEAT) IS MARKEDLY IMPROVED WHEN EARS ARE COLD STORED. THE REGENERATION RATIO IN TRITICALE MAY BE INCREASED AFTER MAINTAINING THE EMBRYOS AT 276 K (3 DEG C). THE STORAGE OF THE MICROSPORES OF RICE ANTHERS IN LIQUID NITROGEN IS POSSIBLE AND VERY INTERESTING. G.G.
