Effectiveness and comparison of artificial neural network architectures in the prediction of electrical loads in supermarkets.

Summary

The paper discusses an ongoing project involving the application of artificial neural networks for the prediction of the energy demands of a large supermarket and its refrigeration system. Electrical demands, refrigeration parameters and weather data collected over a whole year were used for training, validation and testing of a multi-layered perceptron network (MLP). The MLP network was found to perform reasonably well.
