Effects of freezing-melting hysteresis on the thermal properties of microemulsion PCM slurry.

Author(s) : WANG H. J., DAI C. S.

Summary

From the interface thermodynamics point of view, the free-energy model of microemulsion phase change material (PCM) slurry is presented, and the intrinsic relationship between the freezing melting hysteresis and geometric characteristics of PCM particles is revealed. Taking the bulk density as an example, the effects of diameter distributions and mass concentrations of PCM particles during heating/melting or cooling/solidification process are analysed. The comparisons between the predicted and experimental results show a better coincidence.
