Summary

The development rate of Liposcelis entomophila (fed on a mixed diet consisting of 10 parts of whole flour and 1 part of yeast powder) increased sigmoidally with increasing temperature. Its developmental threshold and thermal constant were determined as 15.16 deg C and 306.75 day degrees, respectively. Relative humidity of lower than 50% inhibited its growth and survival. It is concluded that the optimum temperature and relative humidity for its growth, development and reproduction are 28-30 deg C and 80%, respectively.
