EFFECTS OF THE DOSE RATE OF IRRADIATION ON THE PHYSICAL QUALITIES OF THE MUSHROOM (AGARICUS BISPORUS) STORED AT 15 DEG C.

Author(s) : BEAULIEU M., et al.

Summary

THE AUTHORS STUDIED THE EFFECT OF THE DOSE RATE OF GAMMA IRRADIATION ON THE PHYSICAL QUALITY OF AGARICUS BISPORUS. MORPHOLOGY AND TEXTURE STUDIES ON IRRADIATED MUSHROOMS SHOWED NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MUSHROOMS SUBMITTED TO THE DOSE RATES STUDIED. HOWEVER, CONTROLS WERE MORE DETERIORATED. MUSHROOMS IRRADIATED AT 2.0 KILOGRAYS HAD A 2-3 DAYS LONGER SHELF LIFE AT 15 DEG C.
