Efficiency enhancement of vapour compression refrigerator using natural working fluids with two-phase flow ejector.

Author(s) : JEONG J., SAITO K., KAWAI S.

Summary

This paper constructs the simulation model of the two-phase flow ejector and the vapour compression cycle with the ejector. The characteristics of the ejector and the performance of the cycle are investigated by the simulation. Working fluids are ammonia and CO2. From the simulation result, the optimum mixing section inlet pressure exists to maximize the performance of the ejector. In the case of the ejector efficiency 90%, the COP of the vapour compression cycle using ammonia with the ejector is 5% higher than that of the conventional cycle and the COP using CO2 with the ejector is 22% higher.
