ENERGY AND ENTROPY BALANCES IN ABSORPTION SYSTEMS.

Summary

EXPRESSIONS OF THE HEAT QUANTITIES EXCHANGED IN THE COMPONENTS OF ABSORPTION SYSTEMS AND OF THE ENTROPY GENERATED BY IRREVERSIBLE PROCESSES ARE DESCRIBED. SIMPLE-AND DOUBLE-STAGE SYSTEMS OF BOTH DIRECT TYPE (REFRIGERATING MACHINE AND HEAT PUMP) AND INVERSE TYPE (HEAT TRANSFORMER) ARE CONSIDERED ; SYSTEMS WORKING WITH MIXTURES MADE UP OF TWO VOLATILE COMPONENTS ARE CONSIDERED AS WELL. THE INFLUENCE OF THE VARIOUS CAUSES OF IRREVERSIBILITY ON THE COP AND ON THE TEMPERATURES OF THE EXTERNAL SOURCES IS EVALUATED.
