Summary

The combined evaporative cooling and cooling ceiling air-conditioning system is presented in this paper. The condensation on radiant panels and the insufficiency of cooling capacity can be avoided. Applying this new combined air-conditioning system and the present all outdoor air evaporative cooling system to a project in the city of Lanzhou respectively, energy consumption analysis is carried out using energy consumption code and velocity and temperature distribution in the air-conditioned zone is computed using CFD. It is concluded that the new system occupies less building space, reduces energy consumption, improves indoor human thermal comfort and saves initial investment.
