Type of article: Article

Summary

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROTOTYPE OF A HEAT-RECOVERY SYSTEM WHICH CAN BE ADAPTED TO AN AIR-CONDITIONING REFRIGERATING PLANT, IN A TROPICAL CLIMATE, FOR THE PRODUCTION OF DOMESTIC HOT WATER. THE AUTHOR EVALUATES THE PROFITABILITY OF THE PRINCIPLE, IN COMPARISON WITH HEAT REJECTION AIR CONDITIONING AND THE INDEPENDANT PRODUCTION OF DOMESTIC HOT WATER. HE DESCRIBES THE STUDY OF THE PROTOTYPE (CALCULATION OF LOADS, ADAPTATION OF THE REFRIGERATING CIRCUIT, WATER-REFRIGERANT EXCHANGER, INSTALLATION OF THE HOT-WATER CYLINDER). HE DESCRIBES ALSO IN DETAIL THE TESTS CARRIED OUT IN A CLIMATIC ROOM, AND ASSESSES THE PROFITABILITY OF THIS SYSTEM, APPLIED TO NEW CALEDONIA. J.R.
