Summary
A study of thermal comfort shows the climatic conditions acceptable by a subject living in the tropical zone. For each climatic group of that zone, architectural recommendations and the best local materials of construction are given. The limits of those solutions are described and an exhaustive list of complementary active equipment which can be used is given: equipment, acquisition price, maintenance costs and working cost in tropical zone. The economic and ecologic utilities of a single piece of equipment as the direct evaporative cooler are underlined.
