Summary
The power consumption of a refrigeration plant is directly related to the type of control used. Automatic regulation, regulators and variable speed drives are the solutions to implement to increase energy savings. This article presents the energy impact of the implementation of floating low pressure, floating high pressure and variable speed drive. An example of an installation where these types of control have been implemented is described. The resulting energy savings obtained were about 37%.
