Summary

Brief description of the principle of air conditioning in greenhouses for growing bank plants, flower plants and seeds. An air-air heat pump is used for dehumidification, in order to avoid dew points on plants (which results in moulds and losses). Energy savings are also possible thanks to very simple solar-energy storage obtained by simple circulation of air in underground piping. Hot air is taken from the upper part of greenhouses during hot periods and heats the ground, which restores the heat stored through the same circuit during cool periods. Very precise control guarantees the success of the method, which has been operating for 8 years. J.R.
