A REPORT ON MEASURES TAKEN TO LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN AN AUSTRIAN SWIMMING POOL/RECREATIONAL CENTER. AMONG THEM WERE: HEAT RECOVERY FROM EXHAUST GAS, PERFECTION OF CONTROL SYSTEMS, CHANGES IN THE HEAT-DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, AND INSTALLATION OF AN AIR-WATER HEAT PUMP AND OF A SOLAR-ENERGY PLANT FOR THE OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL. AS A RESULT, OVERALL COSTS (GAS AND ELECTRICITY) FELL BY 30%, WHICH MEANT THAT THE INVESTMENT IN EQUIPMENT WOULD PAY OFF WITHIN 6 YEARS.
