THE EXPERIMENTS OF NUCLEATE BOILING HEAT TRANSFER FROM POROUS SURFACES WERE CONDUCTED IN A POOL OF SATURATED R11. THE SYSTEM PRESSURE WAS VARIED IN THE RANGE OF 0.04-0.48 MEGAPASCAL. THE POROUS STRUCTURE IS COMPOSED OF INTERNAL CAVITIES IN THE FORM OF TUNNELS, SMALL PORES, AND SMALL RIBS UNDER THEPORES. COMPARED TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PREVIOUSLY DEVELOPED SURFACE, THE NEW SURFACE YIELDS A MARKED ENHANCEMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER AT WALL SUPERHEATS OF LESS THAN 2 K AND AT A LOW SYSTEM PRESSURE OF 0.04 MEGAPASCAL.
