Author(s) : ZHANG H., XU S., WANG Z., et al.

Summary

Refrigerants play an important role in the refrigeration system. This paper focuses on large water-cooled chillers and the advantages and disadvantages of some refrigerants selected. The key points of refrigerant selection in large HVAC water-cooled chiller are depicted. HFC-134a and HCFC-123 are used in the present large centrifugal chillers, the refrigerant characteristics such as the energy efficiency, ODP, GWP, operational pressures, application condition and phase-out of refrigerants worldwide are discussed in the paper. And advantages and disadvantages of selection of refrigerants are compared according to a comprehensive survey.
