Summary
A new lubricating oil which is soluble in ammonia refrigerant has been developed for use in this unit. In order to eliminate any possibility of refrigerant leakage, a canned motor is coupled to the compressor. The evaporator and condenser come complete with compact, high COP plate heat exchangers. Developments of the MDC Series has resulted in a dramatic reduction in the amount of refrigerant required. Just 1/50 the charge of a conventional refrigeration system is needed.
