Type of article: Article

Summary

THE EDDY DIFFUSIVITIES OF MOMENTUM AND HEAT FOR A VISCOELASTIC FLUID ARE EVALUATED BY MEASUREMENT OF PRESSURE DROP AND HEAT TRANSFER. THE EDDY DIFFUSIVITIES OF MOMENTUM AND HEAT AND THE TURBULENT PRANDTL NUMBER NEAR THE WALL REGION ARE FOUND TO BE STRONG FUNCTIONS OF THE WEISSENBERG NUMBER AND WEAK FUNCTIONS OF THE REYNOLDS NUMBER. THE TURBULENT PRANDTL NUMBER RELATIVELY CONSTANT FOR LOW VALUES OF WEISSENBERG NUMBERS INCREASES TO A MAXIMUM VALUE CORRESPONDING TO THE CRITICAL WEISSENBERG NUMBER FOR HEAT TRANSFER.
