ESTIMATION AND APPLICATION OF THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES FOR A NONAZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURE.

Author(s) : CONNON H. A., DREW D. W.

Summary

A NONAZEOTROPIC MIXTURE OF 65/35% (IN MASS) OF R13B1/R 152A HAS BETTER PERFORMANCES THAN R22 IN AN AIR-AIR HEAT PUMP, EQUIPPED WITH AN ACCUMULATOR. AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHEN EVAPORATION TEMPERATURE LOWERS, R152A CONDENSES PREFERENTLY IN THE ACCUMULATOR AND THE CIRCULATING REFRIGERANT BECOMES RICHER WITH R13B1, MAINTAINING SUCTION GAS DENSITY AND COMPRESSOR CAPACITY. TABLES OF THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES WERE ELABORATED FOR R13B1/R 152A MIXTURES OF 65/35 TO 80/20% (IN MASS) BY MEANS OF THE REDLICH/KWONG-SOAVE EQUATION. THE DATA CALCULATED FOR THE 70/30% MIXTURE AGREE WITH TEST RESULTS.
