Summary

Nowadays, as social awareness toward global warming grows, it is required to switch to lower global warming potential refrigerants in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. Therefore, several new refrigerants are developed, and we must establish a performance evaluation method to select appropriate refrigerants. In this study, we developed a high precision scroll compressor simulation model while considering leakages and heat transfer between the compression chambers of gas and lubricant, evaluated compression characteristic, and compared R410A, R32, and R466A. We also conducted heat pump cycle simulation and considered the relationship between efficiency and refrigerant properties.
