Summary

FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF ENERGY CONSERVATION, AIR CONDITIONER PERFORMANCE SHOULD BE EVALUATED UNDER ACTUAL FIELD SERVICE CONDITIONS. THE AUTHORS PROPOSE A PRACTICAL METHOD TO EVALUATE AIR CONDITIONER PERFORMANCE BY CONSIDERING CHANGEABLE HEAT LOAD CONDITIONS WHICH AIR CONDITIONERS EXPERIENCE IN PRACTICE. AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE PROPOSED METHOD, THE PERFORMANCE OF A SINGLE-SPEED AND TWO-SPEED AIR CONDITIONER ARE EVALUATED AND COMPARED, USING CLIMATE DATA FOR TOKYO IN AUGUST.
