Evaluation of heat pumps for hotels.
Author(s) : CANE D., MORRISON A.
Summary
The paper presents some of the results from an analysis of energy efficiency measures for new hotels. Four different heat pump system alternatives were analyzed through building energy simulation using DOE 2.1E in two of Canada's major cities, Toronto and Vancouver. The base case used standard efficiency packages terminal heat pumps in the individual guest rooms and a VAV rooftop in the hotel common area. Conclusions are drawn.
