Summary

Heat pumps with 'natural working fluids' are being developed as a means of ensuring environmental protection. After surveying the status of R&D, CRIEPI focused on a CO2 heat pump and started a basic study on it. The COP of the CO2 heat pump cycle for hot water supply and the characteristics of the cycle were studied. The CO2 cycle has unique characteristics and achieves a higher COP than those of conventional working fluids.
