RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN AIR WASHER DESIGN, COUPLED WITH RAPIDLY ESCALATING ELECTRICAL COSTS, HAVE BROUGHT ON RENEWED INTEREST IN EVAPORATIVE COOLING FOR COMFORT. THIS IS PARTICULARLY TRUE IN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY WHERE THE OUTDOOR WET BULB TEMPERATURE IS LOW A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THE COOLING SEASON.
