Summary

This paper presents some results of entropic and exergetic analysis applied to the typical cycle of an active carbon-methanol pair adsorption refrigerating system. These results give an overview of the influence of operating temperatures and mass transfer in the system on internal entropy generation and exergetic balance during each phase of the cycle. The article also gives the evolution of the external entropy generation over time due to the thermal contacts of heat exchanger components and source/sinks of a finite thermal conductance.
