Exergy analysis of sorption heat pump: a graphical method.

Summary

Any sorption heat pump can be considered as a double exergy converter: conversion from thermal exergy into chemical exergy in the "separator", composed of the desorber and the condenser; inverse-conversion, of this chemical exergy into thermal exergy in the "mixer", composed of the evaporator and the absorber; the exergy balances in the separator and in the mixer are presented as surface areas on a diagram where the Carnot factors are plotted as functions of the heat fluxes. The method is applied to a two-effect frigo-pump operating with the couple water-lithium bromide.
