Summary

AS DISTINCT FROM OTHER TYPES OF SOUND ATTENUATOR, THE EXPANSION-TYPE SOUND ATTENUATOR IS FEATURED BY THE AIR DUCT, WHICH IS PARTIALLY EXPANDED TO HAVE A LARGE SOUND-ENERGY DAMPING CAPACITY IN THE LOW-FREQUENCY REGION (63-125 HERTZ) UTILIZING ABSORPTION AND REFLECTION OF SOUND WAVES. BECAUSE OF THE LARGE QUANTITY OF SOUND-ATTENUATING MATERIALS, HIGH SOUND-ATTENUATING RESULTS ARE AVAILABLE IN MEDIUM-AND HIGH-FREQUENCY REGIONS AS WELL, WHERE PRESSURE LOSS AND SELF-EXCITED SOUND LEVELS ARE SUCCESSFULLY KEPT LOW.
