EXPERIMENT-BASED SEASONAL PERFORMANCE PREDICTION OF WATER-AMMONIA ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS.

Summary

THE POSSIBLE EFFICIENCY OF AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP WAS EVALUATED BY A MATHEMATICAL MODEL. THE RESULTS WERE COMPARED TO THE RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS MADE ON AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP AND A REFRIGERATING MACHINE FOR WATER COOLING. IN PRACTICE, THE RESULTS APPEAR UNFAVOURABLE FOR THE HEAT PUMP AND QUITE SATISFACTORY FOR THE REFRIGERATING MACHINE. AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP MAY PROVIDE, IN THE NETHERLANDS, ENERGY SAVINGS OF ABOUT 30% COMPARED TO A CONDENSATION BOILER.
