Experimental and numerical modal analysis of a blower motor support.

Author(s) : FARZAMI R., FLOURET E., JOSEPH M., et al.

Summary

About ten years ago the major noise and vibration sources in a vehicle were the engine and the aerodynamic noise sources. During these last years these noise and vibration levels have decreased in very high proportions. Former secondary noise sources such as the air-conditioning system have now become major noise and vibration sources. One of the most important noise and vibration sources in the air-conditioning unit is the blower (electric motor, fan wheel and motor support). This work only deals with the vibrations generated which are due either to wheel imbalance or electric motor vibrations.
