Summary
The purpose of the study was to clarify the influence of herringbone groove geometries, which is formed in the inside of heat transfer tubes, on the heat transfer characteristics and to suggest the possibilities of improvement. The experimental investigation was conducted using two kinds of heat transfer tubes. One has a symmetrical herringbone form and the other has an asymmetrical one. The evaporation and condensation heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop were measured and the data for each tube was compared.
