Summary

This author tested an enhanced heat transfer tube that can be used in flooded shell and tube heat exchangers. He calculated the heat transfer coefficients on the refrigerant side and water side using a heat resistance analysis method when adopting R-134a as working fluid. The results show that the pool boiling performance of this tube is better than that of a conventional enhanced boiling tube when the heat flux is higher than 20 kW/m2, and the condensing performance is also better than that of conventional enhanced condensing tube when the heat flux is over 15 kW/m2.
